One of the best parts of what I do is being an agent of change.
Guiding others towards a higher, fuller quality of life and more happiness never ceases to be fulfilling.
Picture yourself feeling more confident in your career, feeling balanced with your work and life, more confident in who you are, and watching your self-doubt diminish...
As professionals, women tend to often find themselves striving for perfection in everything that they do and feeling like a fraud while doing so. Whether that’s at their job, deciding on when to start a family or in other parts of their lives. I often find that my clients set high expectations for themselves and then feel like they’ve failed when they have not achieved what they wanted to.
It’s understandable that the women I work with face challenges surrounding things like, shame, burnout, anxiety, low self-esteem, and feelings of being overwhelmed. How could you not in a world that is telling you that you can do it all?
Here’s the thing, it doesn’t have to be this way. Through therapy, my clients build confidence in creating boundaries and self-care practices that suit their lifestyles to combat burn out. We explore priorities and desires surrounding expectations around family and work. Self-doubt is met with strengthening self-confidence and redefining self-worth. Bottom-line, you’ll finally start thriving and feeling like you again, which sounds nice doesn’t it?

Integrated Mental Health, bridging mind and body
Imagine this, you make some tweaks around your lifestyle through food & movement and find that you start feeling more vibrant and less anxious.
Often times my clients come to me feeling exhausted by all of the different ways they have tried to help their mental health. Whether it’s through a work friend, social media, or family member, they find themselves self-prescribing things like juice fasts, herbal supplements or other “apparent” healthy activities to help with their mental and physical health. Before they know it, their self-care routine has turned into a burden.
Little do they know that sometimes those different self-prescriptions can have significant adverse outcomes when they are not tailored to your own personal psychobiology. Plus you're spending all that time and money to continue feeling brain fog, lethargic, anxious and so many other things. That’s where integrative medicine and I come into play. We will work together to improve your mood and behavior through nourishing both your brain and gut.
This may look like:
-
Evaluating how your eating patterns may be influencing your mental health
-
Preventing side-effects of poly medicine use
-
Exploring movement habits that benefit both your mental and physical health
-
Assessing your current lifestyle and finding ways to optimize it
Let's take a moment to pause. How would you feel if you had a day where you weren't anxious?
Do you ever find yourself sitting down trying to relax yet even when you try your hardest your mind is still racing a million miles per hour about all the things on your to-do list? Or how about struggling to stay present at a family function because you’re excessively worrying that the setting may cause a panic attack? Maybe you find yourself still exhausted even though you’ve had adequate sleep? Yeah, that’s anxiety.
Treating anxiety is personalized but with some similar structure with each client. First we’ll work together to identify your symptoms. Maybe they’re physical, such as dizziness, light-headedness or chest pain. Or maybe they manifest in ways such as racing thoughts or feeling on edge. Either way, we then move into exploring the underlying causes of your anxiety. This can range from genetics (yes, genetics can have a part in anxiety) to past negative experiences, or relationship distress, etc. After exploring your underlying causes, we will then collaborate together and focus on evidence-based treatments to decrease your anxious symptoms and increase values-based living so that you can thrive again without anxiety controlling your every move.
Anxiety Treatment Includes:
Optimizing lifestyle
Mindfulness
Coping skills
Family of origin work
Though diffusion

Therapy for Anxiety.
Therapy focusing on self-esteem.
Imagine feeling confident when you step into a room, not questioning your abilities or worth, and finally accepting the compliments that come your way without doubting them.
Have you ever caught yourself before an interview starting to doubt yourself and your qualifications? Maybe that voice inside your head is telling you that you’re not prepared enough, or that your resume isn’t as good as the other candidates. Or perhaps you’re hanging out with good friends when you find yourself wanting to not be there because you think they are judging you for your appearance or the way you talk. Self-doubt is frustrating, but you can find relief from it.
Together we will identify and challenge your negative self thoughts and beliefs through developing value-based self-acceptance. Self criticism will be replaced with positive, realistic self talk that feels genuine to who you are. We will explore and understand how your past relationships and experiences may have impacted your self-esteem and learn evidence-based skills to positively impact new experiences.
Maybe you're struggling with who you are now that you don't have your sport. Or you're feeling a ton of pressure to succeed but are unsure about what path to take now.
I often work with athletes from a variety of levels in their journey of better understanding who they are after athletics. My clients that have been athletes often struggle with their identity now that they don’t have their team beside them. They may struggle with lack of routine because they don't have a coach telling them what to do. I also find that clients with experience of being an athlete may struggle with body image and their relationship with food. It’s typical for athletes to feel restless when transitioning to a new lifestyle that is less physically demanding, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Not only can finding purpose be hard after being an athlete, but there is also this added pressure to continue to perform at the level that you once were. Being an athlete will always be a part of who you are but you deserve to have the support you need once you’ve stepped away.
Therapy for the current or retired athlete.

There are so many wonderful things about a partnership but sometimes we do run into challenges. Let’s face it, relationships aren’t always the easiest things. I work with couples that are looking for help with increasing their intimacy and connection as well as marital discord. In working with couples, I help partners express their emotions openly, leading them to heal old wounds and build a deep, secure connection. To keep committed relationships healthy, it's important to regularly address potential issues and avoid the formation of negative patterns.
